Closing Out Summer, Preparing for Fall

For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven Ecclesiastes 3:1

Ever since I was a little girl in elementary school, I have always hated to see summer come to an end. Summer is by far my favorite time of the year with warm weather, beach trips, no homework, late nights, cookouts, and so forth. I’m also not one for change and I hate seeing things come to an end, so when summer is over, I get a little depressed. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love fall and I love all of the seasons, but I just live for summer.

This summer has been amazing with the start of my blog, my first trip to California, a new baby added to our family, and many days spent by the pool. I truly thank the Lord for how much He has blessed me. I am so lucky to be able to enjoy my life surrounded by people that love and support me and want to spend time with me while getting to travel and do things that I love. Thank you all, also, for supporting my blog and making this something fun and exciting for me to do.

Since we are closing out summer and heading into fall soon, I thought I would share some ways to style pieces that can be transitioned from summer to fall with you today. I tend to go thrift shopping fairly often and I have recently found some great pieces at Goodwill here in Ashland and Street Scene in Lexington, KY. Below I have three outfits that are perfect for these hot days that will still linger around in the fall months.

This first look is a pair of black shorts with a black sports bra topped off with an old blazer from Goodwill. I paired it with some mules, but it could easily be worn with boots for colder days.

Second, I have a simple little black dress that is sleeveless with a distressed denim jacket and calf high boots. I love booties like this because they aren’t too hot and super stylish for all seasons. This is a great look for hot days with cooler nights.

My last look is a pair of denim shorts, paired with a basic cami with a long blazer over top. This blazer can also be worn as a dress when buttoned, but I preferred it draped over this outfit. I paired it with a simple brown sandal and these vintage round sunglasses with a cute brown bag for added flair.

These are great, simple, and easy ways to start the transition into fall without letting go of summer just yet.
