Christmas in NYC

This past weekend, I went on my third New York trip of the year. I took my mom, who hasn’t been to NYC since before I was born, and never around Christmas time, and we had the most amazing day! This was my third time doing a red eye bus trip, leaving Friday evening, arriving in Times Square early Saturday morning, leaving NYC Saturday night, and returning home Sunday morning. I love quick trips like this because they are cheap, the perfect amount of time, and great chance for me to visit the city.

After arriving in Times Square, my mom and I headed around the city to see all of the Christmas decor. I showed her Radio City, Rockefeller, and Saks. We shopped at the NBC store, stopped at the Plaza Hotel, and then walked in Central Park. She watched me ice skate at Wollman Rink, which was my first time ice skating in the city and was a BLAST. From there, we had lunch, visited a NYFD station in Midtown, where I bought a patch to add to my vintage camo jacket, and then went on to Broadway to watch Aladdin. The show was amazing and a great way to rest and stay warm in the middle of our busy day. After the show, we went back to Rockefeller to see the tree at night for the first time. Sharing this moment with my mom was magical. We both love the holidays and have always wanted to see the tree lit up and I was so thankful we got to experience that together. After seeing the tree, we met up with my best friends that I studied abroad with in Italy. I try to see them every time I visit New York and they all took the time to meet us for dinner. Dinner was the conclusion of our day and after saying goodbye to my girls, we headed back to the bus.

The entire day was perfect and a memory I will cherish forever. We had so much fun together and I am so thankful for that time with my mommy.
