Joshua Tree 2018-19

Happy New Year, everyone! This is my first post of 2019 and I am so excited for the things to come this year. I started off this year in the most amazing way. My boyfriend, Kirk, lives in California, so I visited him a few days after Christmas and the two of us spent New Years in Joshua Tree. If you have never been to Joshua Tree, I HIGHLY recommend it. Ever since my friend Emily from college got married there, I knew I had to go. Her photos were dreamy and romantic, and the atmosphere seemed beautiful. I’m always planning my trips around photo-ops and this was like spending 2 days in the LAND of photo-ops. The first day that we got there it was sunny and breezy, and the scenery was breathtaking. Due to the government shutdown, we were able to drive through the park for free, which was a very nice surprise. The second day, we drove through some more and got some incredible photos, however, it was FREEZING. It was super windy with low temperatures and there were actually some snow flurries. Of course, this was the day I wanted photos in my long dresses that, needless say, were not warm. But, we had so much fun and it was all worth it. Our Airbnb was the most adorable little house that was super nice, clean, updated, and quiet. We even had our own little patio to sit out at night and look at the stars (if you ever need proof that God is real, go somewhere deserted and look at the stars, its so magical). Our last day there, which was New Year’s Day, we stopped at Pioneer Town on our way back to Los Angeles and had lunch at Pappy and Harriet’s. The whole trip was amazing and I can’t wait to go back and explore more.
